These terms describe your use of the Penny budgeting app and website, provided by the Penny team. Contact pennyappteam@gmail.com. By using Penny, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Using Penny

Penny is a digital envelope budgeting and cash-stuffing planner. It helps you assign money to envelopes, plan bills, track spending, and work toward savings goals using information you enter. Envelope balances represent your plan; they are not bank accounts or money held by Penny. You are responsible for accurate entries and checking calculations before relying on them. Penny does not hold or move money, connect to your bank, or provide investment, tax, credit, or other professional financial advice. Estimates and suggestions do not guarantee savings or financial outcomes.

Eligibility and responsible use

You must be at least 13 to use Penny. If you cannot enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or guardian must agree and supervise your use. Use Penny lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, bypass payment or access controls, misuse another person’s information, or infringe intellectual property rights.

App license

The iOS app is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These service terms supplement that agreement and do not replace it. If there is a conflict concerning the app license, the Standard EULA controls. Penny’s branding, artwork, and software remain the property of their respective owners. You retain rights to information you enter.

Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

You can explore setup before subscribing. Saving progress requires an account. Using your saved budget after setup requires an active subscription. Penny offers monthly and yearly plans and may offer a discounted annual plan. Monthly plans are billed each month; yearly plans, including the discounted annual plan, are billed annually in one payment and renew automatically. The purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation sheet show the price in your local currency, billing interval, and any applicable offer before purchase. Apple charges your Apple Account upon confirmation, or when an applicable trial ends.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Removing Penny does not cancel your subscription.

Use Restore in the app to restore eligible purchases. Apple handles refunds under its policies and applicable law at reportaproblem.apple.com. Price changes and any consent required for renewal are handled through Apple. Joining the website waitlist does not purchase a subscription.

Your information

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Keep your own copies of important financial records. Penny is a budgeting aid and should not be your only record of payments, balances, or obligations.

You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or from the subscription screen under Account & support. Deletion permanently removes your Penny account and saved budget. It does not cancel your Apple subscription. Sign-out, account deletion, support, and subscription restoration remain available without an active subscription. Contact support if you cannot access your account.

Availability and changes

We may improve, change, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted service or error-free calculations. Where a change affects paid service, applicable consumer rights and store refund rules still apply. We may restrict misuse or unlawful activity. You can stop using Penny at any time; subscription cancellation is a separate step.

Responsibility and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by law, Penny is provided as available without a guarantee that it will meet every need. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate entries, decisions based on estimates, or interruptions beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability or warranties that cannot legally be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Changes and questions
